On June 5, 2025, an exclusive Women in Tech event took place in cooperation with Huawei at The Floating Experience in KAI10, Hamburg. With approximately 80 places available, the event offered an intensive setting for empowerment, exchange, and networking for women in the technology industry.
Highlights of the program
- Opening remarks by Johanna Heise (heise group) and Salko Smajlovic (Huawei) focusing on visibility, diversity and the promotion of female careers in tech
- Keynote by Caroline Vega: An inspiring look at how women can forge their own path in the IT industry with courage, authenticity, and humor.
- Mentoring in the tech world with Nilüfer Caliskan-Keserci (IBM): Insights into practical mentorship programs, international networks and targeted career development
- Interactive session “Hack Your Confidence” with Fenna zur Horst: Personal reflection, exchange in small groups and concrete steps for individual growth
- Lecture by Dr. Lars Hewel: Opportunities of generative AI for greater equality of opportunity and more inclusive career paths.
Networking & Community
Afterwards, an evening of networking provided an opportunity for peer-to-peer discussions and new contacts within the Women in Tech community. The event was organized by the dedicated team from heise and Huawei.
